After a four-year hiatus due to Covid and the resulting complications Snowboard Spring Break finally returned to the Austrian glacial resort of Kaunertal at the end of April. With a renewed focus on retailers and their staff, snowboard brands, media, and riders, the on-snow part of the event took place over three days. There were 25 brands in attendance and despite some wild weather thrown in the mix, testing new 2024 kit before it hits the shop floor was on everyone’s agenda.
Of course, testing was the backbone of the event but there were many other highlights over the three days… Art drops from Schoph, Will Smith rallying the troops in the Monster Energy Side Hits Jam, shop staff shredding powder laps with legend Gigi Ruf, killer swag won in the Anon Magnatech Challenge – an extreme test of skill which involved flipping the magnetic lens and catching in its frame on your face! And ultimately, having the UK snowboard industry back together again on snow after such a long time.
