At the start of January (a whole month and a Snow Test ago….) 103 exhibitors, over 200 brands and 561 visitors descended on Telford International Centre to get a first look at next winter’s snowsport gear. If you can remember that far back, it was an incredibly successful show with key meetings getting underway, between a hotly contested competition for best gear in show and key conversations about the sustainability and environmental impact of our industry.
The week was bittersweet however, with the announcement that it was the final show that Rare Management will be running for the SIGB, as Mike and Lesley will be retiring in September 2023. Lesley and Mike have been instrumental in the success of the SIGB, not to mention the UK’s snowsport industry at large and they will be sorely missed. The depth of their industry knowledge is truly unmatched and replacing them will be no mean feat (... and how will we ever get anything done without them?).
The SIGB committee have taken the first steps in recruiting a new team to help with the organisation and execution of our two key yearly events: Slide & OTS Winter tradeshow and the Snow Test. We will keep you updated on this process and aim to ensure a smooth a transition.
