Scamming spamming and spoofing are a pain for everyone. They are usually very obvious but there is currently a move away from bulk attempts to more specific and specialised efforts to get us to click on links.
There has been a recent example of targeted emails, using information publicly available on the SIGB website.
No matter what the email claims, look out for obvious errors or poor spelling, check the header for the email sender info and always be suspicious of links. If it looks dodgy – it probably is.
If in doubt contact email@example.com – the only sigb email that we use.
